What Are the California State Requirements for HVAC Technician Certification?

To become a certified HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) technician in California, candidates must meet certain requirements set forth by the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB).

Education and Training: Candidates must complete a minimum of two years of on-the-job training or have completed an HVAC program at an accredited trade school or college. The training must include both classroom instruction and hands-on experience.
Work Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of four years of practical experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, or repair under the supervision of a licensed HVAC contractor.
